We include a video interview as part of our online application process.

Please be prepared to hold up your government-issued ID into the camera in Question 1 of your interview.

We’re excited to get to meet you virtually, through the medium of video interviewing. You’ll see that we’ve recorded the questions ourselves and you’ll be able to get a sense of our culture and values, as well as what we're looking for in our candidates.

The value we get with this, in addition to your written application, is to get a sense of your personality and potential, and how you think on your feet. This has proven to be a helpful strategy for us and our applicants, as it is both time-efficient and meaningful.

Please complete the interview by 23:59 (London Time) on Thursday 11 February 2021. The sooner you submit your interview, the quicker you'll hear back with a decision. If you do not complete it by this deadline, we will assume you are no longer interested and withdraw your application.

The process is simple - you will be asked a question, given prep time, and a set amount of time to respond. It should only take 15 to 20 minutes to complete and can be done in your own time. You will require an internet connected computer with a functioning webcam and microphone. The system allows for unlimited practice sessions but once you start the formal interview questions you only get one chance - this allows us to see your candid responses.

There is a written response question in the interview and therefore, you will be required to use a computer to complete it. Smart phones are not supported for this interview.

We are looking for a natural response, and as such, would advise against memorising answers in advance and/or reading answers from notes. We’re looking for the best in you and are interested in your experience and skills, so please don’t worry if you make the occasional stumble or mistake – we’ll be looking at the big picture of what you’ve told us.

Once you have recorded your video, our academic selection committee will review it and we will let you know the outcome as soon as possible. Please refer to our website for expected decision time frames.

Kira Talent是帝国理工学院招生团队及项目团队了解申请者的重要工具。它对于你（也就是申请者）来说，肯定也是一个非常棒的经历——因为视频面试除了用于学校招生外，越来越多的企业雇主也会在招聘过程中，把视频面试作为了解候选人的重要途径。

如果你在此之前从未有过在线面试的经历，我知道得知要参加在线面试可能令你有些不安，因此我写了这篇简短的博客，旨在介绍一些关于Kira面试的技巧和指导，希望你可以放心地进行Kira面试。

面试是对你的申请的补充，并为申请筛选过程中增加一个额外的维度——面试不是决定最终是否录取的决定性因素，但在决定是否录取中起着重要作用。这是利益相关者直接听到你心声的最后机会，也让他们有机会看到和听到你的热情、自信、职业目标和课外兴趣。

那么，Kira面试是怎么运作的呢？

Kira的数据库中包含了一组预先记录的问题，这些问题多达数千个。（InVisor注：申请者需要作答4-5个口语题，1个面试题；口语题就是录像题，笔试题是直接在文本框打字提交的小作文）。

这些题目均来自于校方相关利益相关者，以及一些包括校友在内的外部顾问。（InVisor注：网上有很多同学收集面经，但迄今为止只能凑齐三四百题。实际上，再如何准备面经，也无法完全应对数千个问题，因此掌握答题方法才是王道）。

在面试中，你将需要在规定的时间内回答每个问题；通常情况下，每个问题你会有大约30秒的准备时间和大约1分钟的作答时间。

这样的机制是有目的的，这使为了让你难以有充足的时间去准备那些多个申请人回答过的类似问题，并了解他们如何做出反应。Kira为什么要这么做？那是因为：

1. Kira想当场了解你的临场及时反应
2. Kira想看到和听到你的想法，以及你自发的思维过程
3. Kira想看看你在回答即兴问题时能够有多自信

从本质上来说，Kira面试就像破冰船，让校方在开始回答与技术计划有关的问题之前，就可以真正地了解申请者的性格。当然，整个过程可能会令你紧张不安，因为你不习惯于录制下的自己。但如果你做了足够多的练习并进行过一些辅导的话，你将会很有信心。

那么，Kira面试是否在决定录取上起着至关重要的作用呢？其实Kira的真正目的是：

1. 看看你在无法花费太多时间准备的情况下，如何保持连贯统一
2. 评估你的沟通技巧
3. 了解你的目标，并了解你是否适合该学校
4. 帮助招生官在评估完你的申请表、个人陈述和CV后，做出最终决定
