Transfer Admission Criteria页面查清楚以下问题的解决方法：
转学生与新生身份确认，是否需要提供SAT，非常重要
最常见的转学生为大二上学期申请次年春季或者大二升大三的秋季入学。
对于刚入大学未有学分的大一转学生，在未过deadline的情况下建议等第一学期成绩出来之后再申请，查出是否需要提供SAT成绩。
以OHIO STATE U为例，转学生少于30个学分必须提供SAT，满30个学分例如已有三个学期成绩，可以豁免SAT。
If you have earned at least 30 semester or 45 quarter hours after high school graduation, you will be considered for admission on a competitive basis.
If you have earned one to 29 semester or one to 44 quarter hours, we will review your academic performance in college and high school and your performance on the ACT or SAT to determine your eligibility for admission.
If you are currently enrolled in your first term of college, both your academic performance in high school and your performance on the ACT or SAT will determine your eligibility for admission.
UIUC对少于30个可转学分的转学生也要求提供SAT：
It’s required that you send us a standardized test score if you have less than 30 graded transferable semester hours of college coursework at the time of application: ACT (code 1154) or SAT 1 (code 1836) scores are accepted.
注意两种情况：
1）学分以学校评定为准，并不是学生修了多少学分为准；例如UIUC每一门课程可转学分必须为3或以上，所以大二转学生也建议考SAT；
2）部分大学对转学生有学分起点要求，例如TEXAS A&M
To be eligible for review, transfer applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPR on a minimum of 24 graded semester hours of transferable coursework at the time of the application deadline.
Q：刚入大学申请次年秋季入学，当年的SAT是否有效？
A：多数大学都承认上一年的SAT分数。
西北大学的答复：
Thank you for your interest in Northwestern University.
Yes, results from exams taken in 2012 are certainly acceptable; we will accept standardized test results from any time. We simply require that the results be reported us directly by the testing agency, your secondary school, or your college or university.
纽约大学的答复：
Yes, the scores from 2012 are fine to use for your transfer application.
宾夕法尼亚大学的回复：
All transfer applicants must submit results of either the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT with Writing. The test must have been taken within the last five years.
可转学分封顶问题
一般而言，可转学分都会封顶，例如SUNY Stony Brook规定：Most baccalaureate degrees at Stony Brook require 120 credits. The University will, therefore, accept a maximum of 84 transfer credits.
可转学分认定
不同学校对学分认可程度不同，同一学校对不同专业学分认可程度也有可能不同。
一般而言，理工科类课程认可程度较高，文科类课程认可程度较低。有些学校不承认国内英语专业的听说读写等必修课，有些学校不承认毛邓，不能给学生家长关于转学分的承诺。有些学校出结果的同时会反馈可转学分，有些学校要到学校报到才确认具体的学分。
UIUC转学要特别留意，该校对文科类可转学分认可程度较低。例如12秋季有名大二升大三的学生只认可了4个可转学分；13秋季有名大二升大三已修70个学分的学生只认可30个以下的可转学分，学校不认可3个credit hours以下的课程，因此学生必须提供SAT成绩，或defer到下一个申请季度够30个可转学分之后才豁免SAT成绩。
存款证明提供时间
有些学校录取之后申请I20才要求提供存款证明，有些学校申请时必须提供存款证明，例如Ohio Sate U。需要提醒家长及时准备资金。
成绩单认证
以WES为主，包含CDGDC即教育部认证，需时1-2个月，200-300美元，加急加快递和额外的认证报告有可能超过400美元；
有些学校如Pittsburgh承认JS&A认证，需时较短，一周左右可以完成，200美元左右；有些学校例如Purdue只需要CDGDC认证，需要10-20个工作日，费用800元人民币以内。

注意学校是否要求deadline之前要收到认证报告。
最容易忽略一点：该专业是否接受转学生，例如圣母大学商学院不接受转学申请。
Due to enrollment limitations, Notre Dame cannot accept transfer applications for the Mendoza College of Business, nor are transfer students allowed to move to the Mendoza College of Business from another college or school within the University.

影响本科转学成功的因素

本科段的GPA是查看学生学术表现的重要依据，所以有些学校需要国内的本科转学申请者进行成绩单评估。本科转学一般最低GPA的要求是3.0/4.0（部分学校要求2.5及以上）。申请者一定不能在递交申请之后放弃大学学业，入学之前需要提供final transcript。而且有些学校会对学生整体的GPA有要求。比如会要求申请者在入学前都要保持GPA在3.0以上，且没有不及格。
2）已修学分课程与语言和/或SAT等标准化考试成绩
托福要求请参照本科新生。
差异较大的是，是否需要SAT成绩，一般而言，对本科新生必须或强烈建议提供SAT的学校，会根据转学生申请人已修学分规定能否豁免SAT，每间学校各自有具体的要求。请务必查清楚官网说明。

有些学校以学校认定的可转学分为准（例如毛选邓不算，3 credit hours以下的科目不算），并不是以学生的成绩单为准。
UIUC：Our processors have reviewed your transcript and you will have less than 30 transferrable/graded hours. Only classes that are worth 3 or more hours are eligible for transfer. You will need to submit SAT/ACT scores in order to complete your application.
3) 对申请者学术背景的要求（课程是否相符合）
NYU商学院对本转的学分和先修课程要求：
30–32 semester hours/credits/points不包括AP。建议课程：
1 semester of Calculus I or higher*
1 semester of Writing/Composition (2 semesters preferred)
1 semester of intermediate-level Microeconomics**
1 semester of Statistics***
1 semester of Financial Accounting，且GPA4.0
看看各名校对先修课程的要求：
西北大学：没有先修课程要求。We do not have any course prerequisites for transfer applicants. A full credit evaluation will be performed by our Registrar's Office only upon admission.

转学生专业选择并不如新生灵活，部分专业有先修课程要求或不接受转学申请。从录取难度和可转学分考虑，申请专业务必参考已修课程。专业选择请参考研究生的注意事项。
4）推荐信：转学生更注重学术能力，推荐人都以学术老师为主
哥大：Three letters of recommendation: two Academic Evaluations from college professors and one from an advising dean or academic adviser；
Upenn：Two recommendation letters from college professors at your current institution
Georgetown University：Dean’s Report from current college/university Professor’s Report from professor preferably in major area of study
部分学校例如Cornell等教注重科研的学校可以有额外的安排：
If you have completed a special project, submit a one-page summary and letter of recommendation from the teacher or other person who supervised the project.
相对于课外活动，如推荐人能证明转学生的学术能力对录取更有利
